SDCA had its first AKC Agility Course Test
On December 18, 2022, we had our very first ACT event at Dog Quest.
Thank you everyone who entered this event. Hope you had fun and were able to meet your training goals.
Congratulations to all the teams that got their titles! Well done!
We think the ACT is a great way to introduce people to the trial environment. It was a fun event and it was nice to see everyone helping, volunteering and cheering each other.
Can’t wait to do this again.
SDCA had an AKC style fun run
In an effort to promote and make agility more accessible to everyone, SDCA hosted an AKC style fun run with Novice and Masters courses, allowing food and toys to be used inside the ring.
This fun run had various training opportunities for both novice and experienced teams:
- Novice courses
- Masters courses
- 75 seconds per run to do whatever you want in the ring
- Measuring wicket available to practice
- Exposure to a trial like environment
- Mentoring available
In addition, we had some fun offerings:
- Holiday themed podium for pics
- Dog items swap meet
- Susan Goldman photography
We hope everyone that attended had a great time and success training their dogs. We will definitely do this again next year 2023. Stay tuned!
