SDCA at the San Diego County Fair
San Diego Coastal Agility was invited by the Del Mar Fairgrounds to put on an agility exhibition during the San Diego County Fair.
The event was well attended. We had a crowd cheering competitors from the stands and the sidewalk. We had around 25 competitors. Although it was for exhibition, we decided to have a friendly competition among friends so we could give prizes and have podiums.
We hope everyone had a good time and got to see what this beautiful sport is all about.
Inaugural SDCA Invitational
San Diego Coastal agility is hosting an unsanctioned trial at the Del Mar Fair!
The purpose of this event is to showcase an exciting Dog Agility competition for the Del Mar Fairground attendees, but also to have a great time with a friendly competition among club members and guests. This will be an unsanctioned event.Does my dog need to be measured (UKI)?
We get this question a lot so here is a guide to determine if your dog needs to be measured or not.
First of all, let’s determine if your dog has a permanent measurement already. You can do so by login in to this website:
https://entries.ukagilityinternational.com/
Once you login, click on DOGS in the top menu. Look at your dog’s jump height. If there is an asterisk next to it, you already have an official measurement and you do not need to be measured anymore. Look at the sample below where both dogs have been officially measured:

For any other case scenario, please follow this flowchart to determine if your dog needs to be measured or not:

What is the UKI Classic?

Since we have been getting several questions about the UKI Classic, we put together this article with more details about the event.
What is the UKI Classic?
The UKI Classic is a two or three day tournament where teams compete for podium placements, prizes and for a chance to earn Byes for the UKI US Open in Florida or the UKI West Coast Open in Paso Robles, CA.

What events take place at the Classic?
The UKI Classic has Pentathlon, Biathlon and Masters Series. Additionally, titling classes or other fun events can be offered.
What is Pentathlon?
Pentathlon consists of Agility (aka Standard), Jumping, Snooker and Gamblers classes with placement points combined. The top 50% progress to a Speedstakes Final.
